The brain
Learning
Psychopathy has been associated with traumatic injury or dysfunctional pre-frontal cortex and amygdala regions of the brain. If these parts of the brain are dysfunctional, the person can be "incapable of acquiring social and moral knowledge." It has also been stipulated that psychopathy is related to high IQ results.
Emotional response
It has been suggested that psychopathy is related to strange responses to facial and vocal expressions of fear and sadness such as crying or screaming. This can be because of decreased use of the fusiform and extrastriate cortical regions.
A psychopath brain is able to process expressions, but it is functionally damaged and does not respond like a normal brain would. In a study where psychopaths watched videos of a person harming another person, "found that psychopaths' emphatic reaction initiated the same way it did for controls when they were instructed to empathize with the harmed individual." They activated that part of the brain when they were instructed to think about how that person felt. This study implicates psychopaths are able to change their empathy personality at will.
There is also a connection between psychopaths and had a significantly less activation in the "ventromedial prefrontal cortex, amygdala and periaqueductal gray parts of the brain..." In this study they were able to feel pain for themselves but not for others.

Morals
Psychopaths have generally been categorized as a person who does not have morals. It was found that psychopaths actually find breaking conventional rules (do not drink soda after brushing your teeth) as severe as breaking a law (Driving Under the Influence). It was also found that psychopaths believe that if you kill someone accidentally it is morally okay.
